What is Freedom of Information?
Freedom of Information refers to the provision of non-protected or non-classified public information processed by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, regardless of its source, form, or nature. Open data falls under public information.

Who Can Request Information?
Every individual has the right to access non-protected public information. All requests for access to or acquisition of public information are handled based on equality, with no discrimination among individuals.

What Information Can Be Requested?
Individuals are entitled to request any non-protected information. The following types of information are protected and cannot be requested:

  1. Information whose disclosure would harm the national security, policies, interests, or rights of the state.
  2. Military and security information.
  3. Information and documents obtained through agreements with other countries that are classified as protected.
  4. Investigations, inquiries, enforcement actions, inspections, and surveillance operations related to crimes, violations, or threats.
  5. Information that includes recommendations, proposals, or consultations for issuing legislation or government decisions that have not yet been made.
  6. Information of a commercial, industrial, financial, or economic nature that, if disclosed, could lead to unlawful profit or prevent losses.
  7. Scientific or technical research, or intellectual property rights, that would be compromised if disclosed.
  8. Information related to tenders, bids, and auctions that would disrupt fair competition if disclosed.
  9. Information that is confidential or personal under other regulations or requires specific procedural actions to access or obtain.

The Authority's Responsibilities

  1. The General Authority of Civil Aviation is responsible for implementing the policies and procedures related to the exercise of the right to access or obtain public information.
  2. The General Authority of Civil Aviation shall verify the identity of individuals before granting them access to or provision of public information.
  3. The General Authority of Civil Aviation will develop and document the necessary procedures for managing, processing, and documenting data requests, including rejected requests, and will define the roles and responsibilities of the specialized team.
  4. The General Authority of Civil Aviation is responsible for periodically monitoring compliance with Freedom of Information policies and procedures.
